BCCI Announces Final Shortlist for IPL Auction 2026
The final auction list comprises:
- 240 Indian players
- 110 overseas players
- 224 uncapped Indian players
- 14 uncapped overseas names
This huge uncapped participation highlights the emergence of fresh domestic talent waiting to make their IPL breakthrough.
77 Slots Available Across Franchises
All ten IPL teams will compete to fill 77 total squad vacancies, including 31 spots reserved for overseas players.
The highest base price remains ₹2 crore, with 40 players entering the auction in this premium bracket.
35 Players Added After Franchise Feedback
Initially, BCCI shared a long list of 1,355 names with franchises for selection purposes. Following team recommendations, 35 additional players were included, making the final count 350.
One of the most unexpected inclusions is Quinton de Kock, who wasn’t part of the preliminary list. A franchise requested his name, and his return might prove valuable after he smashed a century against India recently. His base price this year stands at ₹1 crore, reduced from the previous mega auction.
Notable new Sri Lankan entrants include Kusal Perera, Binura Fernando, Dunith Wellalage, and Traveen Mathew.
Big Names in the IPL 2026 Auction Pool
The auction will kick off with the capped players grouped by categories:
- Batters
- All-rounders
- Wicketkeepers
- Pacers
- Spinners
Some top names expected to draw intense bidding wars include:
Cameron Green, Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, and David Miller.
Once the marquee 70 names are completed, the event will shift to an accelerated auction phase for the remaining players.
