The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League was shaping up to be one of the most thrilling seasons in recent memory. However, the tournament was temporarily suspended midway due to cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. So let’s look at the Top 5 Run Scorers of IPL 2025.

Before the pause, the race for the Orange Cap was heating up with several batters delivering consistent and explosive performances. From power-packed innings to classy knocks, the top five run-scorers of IPL 2025 stood out for their match-winning contributions. Let’s take a look at the standout performers who led the run charts when the league came to a halt.

  1. Jos Buttler – 500 runs

England’s Jos Buttler rounds out the top five with 500 runs from 11 innings. With a striking average of 71.43 and a blistering strike rate of 163.93, Buttler was in vintage touch. His top score of 97 and five fifties reflects his role as Gujarat Titans’ explosive batter.

  1. Virat Kohli – 505 runs

The seasoned campaigner Virat Kohli silenced critics with a remarkable showing this season. Scoring 505 runs at an impressive average of 63.13, Kohli also recorded seven half-centuries—more than any other player in the top five. Though his strike rate of 143.47 was slightly conservative compared to others, his consistency was unmatched.

  1. Shubman Gill – 508 runs

Shubman Gill continued his elegant run-scoring form, collecting 508 runs in 11 innings. Averaging 50.80 and striking at 152.55, Gill’s classical stroke play and clean hitting were a treat for fans. Like Sudharsan, he has five fifties to his name, with a best of 90.

  1. Sai Sudharsan – 509 runs

Emerging as a revelation, Sai Sudharsan has impressed everyone with his consistency and composure. Playing 11 innings without a single not-out, he amassed 509 runs at an average of 46.27 and a strike rate of 153.31. His five fifties and a top score of 82 underline his ability to anchor the innings and finish strong.

  1. Suryakumar Yadav – 510 runs

The ever-reliable Suryakumar Yadav leads the charts with 510 runs in 12 matches. Batting at a staggering average of 63.75 and a fiery strike rate of 170.57, he has been Mumbai Indians’ most consistent performer. With three half-centuries and a top score of 68, Suryakumar’s ability to accelerate at will and play innovative shots has once again set him apart.
