Key Players Injured for IPL 2025: Impact on Teams and Lineups

Players who are injured for IPL 2025

Indian Premier League 2025 is set to commence in under 10 days, with the first matchup set between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Let us take a look at the players who are injured for IPL 2025

Bowlers being dismissed

Teams who are preparing for the new season, will have to keep up with the injuries. As the tournament approaches, a wave of injuries have struck through various teams, threatening to affect plans for several franchises. Key players are either partially or fully sidelined, leaving teams scrambling to adapt. Among the hardest hit are the bowlers, whose contributions often add a thrilling edge to the batter-heavy T20 format.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru who spent 12.5 crore for Josh Hazlewood in the IPL 2025 mega auction, but a side strain sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has put off his participation, especially after missing the Champions Trophy. Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans are facing similar headaches with Anrich Nortje and Gerald Coetzee.

Nortje’s ongoing injury concerns and Coetzee’s hamstring trouble, which had kept him out of the Champions Trophy, have left their availability uncertain. Lucknow Super Giants are also on edge about Mayank Yadav, whose lumbar stress injury from the Bangladesh series continues to cloud his prospects following a disrupted IPL 2024. And Jasprit Bumrah’s uncertainty adds extra challenges for Mumbai Indians.

All-Rounders and Emerging Stars

The injury woes extend beyond the bowling ranks, affecting all-rounders and rising talents alike. LSG’s Mitchell Marsh, an Australian all-rounder, is nursing a lower back issue that forced him out of the Champions Trophy, casting uncertainty over his IPL 2025 stint.

RCB’s challenges deepen with Jacob Bethell, a promising English batter, struggling to recover from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians face another blow from Lizaad Williams who is out with a knee injury, and Allah Ghazanfar has also been ruled out, prompting the franchise to seek replacements. These setbacks are pushing teams to rethink their lineups as the season looms.
