DC were 7/3 in just 2 overs, and were at the cusp of losing the match, Ashutosh Sharma was bought in as the Impact Player in place of Mukesh Sharma. Ashutosh Sharma led the innings with his 66* off 31 balls and hit 5 boundaries and 5 maximums in his pursuit. With just one wicket in hand, and the win demanding 5 runs off 4 balls, he hit a maximum to finish off in style. 

Ashutosh Sharma is the pure example of why impact players are necessary when the team’s order is falling apart. Impact player’s do directly impact the innings, when the team needs them, which is why this rule is beneficial for the teams, as well as for tournaments such as IPL, which inturn adds competitiveness to the games.
