ICC wants Indian jersey to be changed from Blue to Orange. Inspired by the football multiple jerseys, ICC made a new rule that no two teams should wear the same colored jersey. Only the hosting team England is allowed to retain its original color.
Sources tell that India has yet not seen it’s new jersey and there may be a chance of putting on new jersey while India is playing against Afghanistan on Saturday.
“Till last week, the Indian players had not seen their new jerseys,” – Senior industry executive.
“The BCCI marketing team is still working on the design and the jersey will be unveiled very soon,”- BCCI Source.
“There is still confusion among various stakeholders whether the team would actually need to don new colors. For instance, the Pakistan team has been exempted from changing their familiar green although there are teams such as Bangladesh, which too, wear green,” – He added.
Along with India, there are some of the teams which are going to change their jersey. South Africa to change from green to yellow during the match against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is going from partial red to complete red while playing against Afghanistan. Australia, New Zealand, West Indies have been exempted from the change as they have a unique jersey.
