India Vs West Indies: The Two Star Batsmen Of India Are Set To Resume Battle

Team India captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma are all set to resume their battle to the top when the illustrious duo takes to the field against West Indies in the upcoming T20I series which begins from Friday. The Indian team is going to play three T20Is and as many ODIs against West Indies in a month-long tour for the visitors. The first T20I match of the blockbuster series will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and both the teams are eagerly waiting to put their best foot forward.

While the main aim for Team India will be to win another series at home, skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be gunning for personal glory as well. The two-star batsmen have occupied the top two spots in the list of most runs scored in the shortest format, with Rohit Sharma currently sitting slightly ahead of Kohli.

After Virat Kohli was rested for the series against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma has opened up a decent gap at the top. This after the duo kept interchanging the numero uno spot among each other a few times. With Virat Kohli back to lead Team India against West Indies, the two batsmen are set to resume their battle in the forthcoming series.

Rohit Sharma has smashed 2539 runs in 93 innings while Kohli currently is 89 runs behind his deputy. It must be noted that Kohli has played 26 innings less than Rohit. While Kohli aggregates 50.00 in T20Is, Rohit’s average currently stands at 32.13.

Both the match-winners will be eager to get the better of each other on this list as well.

Pacer Deepak Chahar, who took a hat-trick in the 3rd T20 International against Bangladesh and also came up with the best-ever figures (6/7) in a T20I match, will be a key figure in the Indian bowling attack in the upcoming series, especially with Jasprit Bumrah out of action due to injury.
