India defeated Northamptonshire by 10 runs following an outstanding all-round performance by Harshal Patel in the second warm-up match on Sunday.
Harshal Patel proved his mettle in the game and helped India recover from a hazardous position to 149 for eight with a 36-ball 54. He later took two wickets to restrict the county team for 139 with three balls remaining to hand India a victory in the second consecutive warm-up match.
Apart from Patel Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal also dismissed 2 batters apiece as Northamptonshire failed to overcome India’s total.

Earlier, asked to bat first, India faced a rough start by losing Sanju Samson in the first delivery of the game.
Rahul Triptahi, who came at one down, did not last long either, but India was in even more trouble when Suryakumar Yadav was returned by fast bowler Brandon Glover, leaving the visitors at 8/3 in the third over.
However Ishan Kishan and Dinesh Karthik then did a 43 runs partnership for the fourth wicket to steady the ship. When things looks sorted for the visitors, Ishan Kishan walked back after scoring 16 off 20 ball.
Karthik got out after making a sparkling 34 off 26 balls. With that, India slipped to 72 for five at the start of the 12th over.
When India required runs to set a good total. Harshal was the one who handled the responsibility, scoring a subdued 54 from 36 balls. During his brisk knock, Harshal hit three sixes and five fours.
For Northamptonshire, Brandon Glover took the most number of wickets 3, while Nathan Buck and Heldreich 2 wickets each.
India had earlier defeated Derbyshire by seven wickets. Now the team is all set for limited-over series against mighty England, starting on July 07.
