VVS Laxman, the head coach of India, was pleased by Hardik Pandya’s sudden maturity on the field. Hardik is a natural leader of men Laxman said. As Laxman is taking over as the head coach when Rahul Dravid is on a break for the series against New Zealand.

Hardik Pandya is calm and a player’s captain

He is an excellent leader. We have witnessed his work with the IPL’s Gujarat Titans. Taking charge of the tournament in the franchise’s inaugural year and winning the league is no small feat. He is not only tactically sound. But also very calm on the field, which is something that is very important at the highest level. According to the time I have spent with him since the Ireland series, said Laxman in the pre-match press conference prior to the first T20I against New Zealand at the SKY Stadium.

Laxman praised Hardik’s skillful handling of pressure.

There will be times when you will be under pressure, and at those times, you must remain composed as a leader. His conduct at work and presence in the dressing room are also admirable. The players are at comfortable with Hardik, according to Laxman, and they confide their fears or concerns to him. His leadership of the team both on and off the field is fantastic.

“I think he is a players’ captain; he is very approachable. All the players go up to him and confide with him. I think that is something which I really like about Hardik. And he leads by example both on and off the field,” he said. Laxman said the form of T20 cricket demands a lot of clarity of thought and fearlessness from players.

The Indian coach adds that the nature of T20 cricket demands the players to be flexible when they are given such opportunities meanwhile it all depends on the thinking and approach.

“I believe that playing T20 cricket requires a great deal of freedom and mental clarity. I’ve spent a lot of time with these guys, seeing them develop over the years into fantastic international cricketers. considering it to be their strength. While playing T20 cricket, it’s crucial to have a fearless attitude while also evaluating the game’s circumstances and meeting the team’s needs.

It’s critical to be adaptable.

In my opinion, success in T20 cricket comes from the ability to express yourself. I believe that T20 cricket has taught us over the years that having more players with diverse skill sets is beneficial for the squad. The best way forward is having bowlers who can also bat and batsmen who can also bowl. In T20 cricket, it has already been demonstrated that having more bowlers who can also bat gives the team more depth. Also, gives the batsmen more freedom to express themselves. More teams will attempt to incorporate it into their hiring process as I believe that is the format’s primary purpose.
