Karun Nair’s Performance in Unofficial tests
Karun Nair hit a double ton in the first innings of the first unofficial test against the England lions, and in the second innings of the first unofficial test, he didn’t bat, and the match went on to be a draw. In the second unofficial test however, Karun Nair hit just 40 in the first innings and just 15 in the second innings of the second unofficial test.
In his 2024-25 County career he managed to play 11 innings and accumulate 487 runs with an average of 48.70, he has been a top contender for the spot in playing XI in the upcoming new India Tour of England 2025 of the new WTC cycle 2025-27. With his county experience and a brilliant domestic season, Karun Nair could be the asset India could use him to tame the English side on their home pitches.
Will he make it to the Playing XI?
There have been some reports that Rishabh Pant was hit on his left side in the training sessions. And with Pant’s injury scare under control, if the situations tends to escalate. That would mean Karun Nair could get a chance to showcase his batting prowess on the English pitch against the English side.
Apart from his inclusion as an injury replacement, if the management, and the coaching staff think Karun Nair can perform better compared to his team mates. In that scenario as well, Karun Nair will be able to grab a spot in the playing XI in the India tour of England 2025.
