India’s Squad for the 1st Test against England
Team India probable playing XI will consist of KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill as the captain, Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant as vice-captain and wicketkeeper, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh who could be making his test debut.
After having a good India A series against the England Lions and Team India. Players like Karun Nair who has been determined to make a cut into the national squad against the English side. Apart from him Harshit Rana has also been called up for the test against England.
Pitch Report for IND vs ENG 1st Test
The first test is being played at the Headingley Cricket Ground which is also known as the Yorkshire Cricket Ground. The chief curator of the Headingley Cricket Ground, Richard Robinson, confirmed the pitch for the 1st India-England Test won’t be a green pitch, it will be a balanced surface favoring both bat and ball. Speaking ahead of the June 20 test, he said the goal is a full five-day contest. Despite early grass and moisture, he expects the pitch to flatten out, allowing competitive scoring. A first-innings total of around 300 is likely, he noted.
Who will have the Advantage going into the first Test?
England will be entering this matchup with the obvious home ground advantage. Which will be a challenge for team India to get a grip on their balance and to take advantage of the pitch conditions for the test series.
