The 5th day of the fifth test of the India tour of England 2025 had a mood of excitement as well a fear from both sets of fans. While England needed a mere 35 runs to win, India needed 4 wickets to seal the win, and level the series. Here’s the IND vs ENG 5th test highlights.

Siraj started out the day with 2 important dismissals, one being the wicket-keeper Jamie Smit and another being the all-rounder Jamie Overton. After these crucial dismissals, India had successfully landed their punch back to the England squad, and with the pressure mounting India were determined to get the remaining wickets as well.
Thanks to Prasidh Krishna, Josh Tongue’s wicket was an undermining which wicket, which shook England to the core, as they had to look out for the injured pacer Chris Woakes, who had injured his left shoulder on the first day of the fifth test, and still came out to bat with his primary strong right hand.
However, Gus Atkinson and Woakes with near misses during running in-between the wickets, were only 6 runs short of winning the match, when the determined Indian pacer Siraj dismissed Atkinson and helped India clinch victory over the English side of the fifth test.
How does this win affect India for the WTC cycle 2025-27?
After drawing the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy 2025, India are currently sitting at the third spot of the WTC points table for the cycle 2025-27, with 28 points to their name. On the other hand, England are right behind them with 26 points to their name.
For the future test series, England is set to clash against the mighty Australia in the Ashes, while India will be playing the West Indies for a 2-match test series in the month of October.
