Jamie Overton is Back in Test Squad: IND vs ENG 1st Test
India will tour England for a five-match Test series commencing on Friday, June 20, 2025. The Headingley Stadium complex in Headingley in Leeds, England, will host the first Test between the sides. Ben Stokes will lead the red-ball game for England. Moreover, all-rounder Jamie Overton has made a comeback to the Test squad after almost three years. Overton has appeared in only one Test in 2022.
The 31-year-old made his debut in the longest format of cricket against New Zealand on the same ground. Overton made 97 runs in the first innings against the Kiwis. Moreover, Jamie Overton concluded 146 runs with an average of 73 and a strike rate of 111 in two innings. He also grabbed two wickets in two innings.
Jamie Overton carried a niggle after breaking his little finger during an ODI against West Indies. Despite any update on his recovery, Overton has made it to the Test team. The all-round pacer is under the examination of England’s medical team. Atkinson’s ruling out after sustaining a hamstring injury had Overton filling in, making England’s seam unit firm.

Right now, England will miss pacers Mark Wood, Olly Stone, and Jofra Archer for the series.
