India Beats Japan By Ten Wickets In U19 World Cup

Indian U19 cricketers Ravi Bishnoi and Kartik Tyagi shared the major piece and helped out the team in beating Japan by 10 wickets during the Under 19 World Cup 2020 at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Tuesday. This is the second victory registered by India.

India has opted to bowl and Japan collapsed to just 41 in 22.5 overs. In the game, Bishnoi picked up four wickets and Tyagi three.

Initially, it was Tyagi’s turn to strike two blows for India Under 19 in the fifth over to dismiss Marcus Thurgate and Neel Date.

After that Bishnoi took charge, as he came into form and Japan was reduced to 14/4. He accounted for Shu Noguchi and Kazumasa Takahashi during the eighth over with successive deliveries.

Before Tyagi, Akash Singh and Vidyadhar Patil ran over the Japanese team to remove their lower middle-order and the tailenders, two more wickets were added to Bishnoi’s tally.

They Needing 42 runs to win, the Indian team did not need to sweat it out. Their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kumar Kushagra took only 4.5 overs to chase down the target.

On Friday 25th January, India will play against New Zealand.
