BCCI on Friday has announced India A squad for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand A.

The two sides will play three one-day matches, starting on September 22. The ODI games will be held on Sept. 22, Sept 25th and Sept.

Sanju Samson has been picked as the skipper for the side, who have a good experience playing at international level.

The batting department will revolve around Mumbai captain Prithi Shaw, Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, and Rajat Patidar, who had a memorable run in 2022 IPL season.

KS Bharat has been selected as the wicketkeeper batter for the side, while Angad Bawa, Tilak Varma and Shahbaz Ahmed were picked as the all-rounders.

The experienced campaigner Kuldeep Yadav was picked as the leading spinner alongside Rahul Chahar.

While the India A squad included four pacers – Kuldeep Saini, Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik and Shardul Thakur.

The selection committee has chosen to move forward with the players who have been a member of the A teams for a time and has chosen the tried and true names.

With some of the players, who impressed everyone in the IPL have also given chance to perform in India’s coloured jersey.

This will be the first “A” tour to be held in India after the pandemic. With both teams already locking horns in the red-ball format for the three-match series, which currently stands at 0-0 after 2 games and the third match of the series is underway, in which India posted 293 in their first innings.

The three-match ODI series will commence on September 22. All the three-games will be played at the Ma Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
