According to further developments, India’s tour to West Indies will begin on July 22. Three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will be held in Trinidad and St. Kitts well before sides travel to the United States for 2 T20Is to conclude the white-ball series.

The One-day matches will be contested at Trinidad’s Queen Park Oval on July 22, 24, and 27, whereas the opening T20I of the 5 match series will indeed be held at the Brian Charles Lara Stadium on July 29, comprised of two consecutive fixtures at St Kitts & Nevis’ Warner Park on August 1&2. The series’ with 2 games, likewise slated ahead, will be played in Florida on August 6 & 7.

Medical protocols will have to be adhered to as needed: CWI official

“Those are the dates and the schedule will be announced once the clearance from the US comes. We are waiting for the sanctioning from the US,” said a top CWI official, with indirect knowledge of the developments.

“The India series is still about three months away but medical protocols will have to be adhered to as needed,” the CWI official said. However, similar to India’s home T20I series versus South Africa, this series is expected to have no or minimal COVID regulations in place.

Following the completion of the IPL 2022, India will face England, Ireland, and South Africa, prior to embarking on a West Indies trip. They play South Africa in five T20Is at home from June 9-19, followed by 2 ODIs in Dublin on June 26 and June 28.

Between July 1 to 17, the squad will play an all-format series versus England, which will include a postponed Test, 3 T20Is, and 3 ODIs, before flying to Trinidad on July 18, only 4 days just before the West Indies series starts.

“Two batches of Indian team (one comprising the Test specialists) are expected to leave for Ireland and England on June 20, after the five-match home T20I series against South Africa from June 9 to 19,” the source said.
