South Africa lost momentum after Iyer and Ishan Kishan’s 161-run partnership for the second wicket, from 155 balls made thing easy for India to chase down the target. However, Kishan was unable to record his first international century in his hometown when he fell at 93 off 84 balls.

South Africa’s Innings

After winning the toss South Africa decided to bat first and rapidly reached 278 for seven in 50 overs because of some outstanding batting from Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks.

Together, Markram and Hendricks reconstructed the SA innings while playing aggressive batting and consistently slamming boundaries to keep the scoreboard moving. Siraj’s second dismissal of Hendricks for 75 provided India with the much-needed comeback. Nine fours and a six from Hendricks’ comeback inning helped South Africa set a manageable defensible objective.

The Indian bowlers performed admirably as a team, but Mohammed Siraj stood out with three crucial dismissals of Quinton de Kock, Kyle Hendricks, and Keshav Maharaj. The second ODI match between India and South Africa held at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, where Shreyas Iyer blasted his second ODI century to help India defeat South Africa handily by 7 wickets. Early Loss for India

Shikhar Dhawan was hit by Wayne Parnell for the second game in a row as India chased down the 279-run total, Gabbar only managed 13 runs.

Shubman Gill appeared to be in fine form throughout his 28-run knock. But he was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada because he couldn’t turn it into a significant total. During his time in the middle, he slammed five four-point boundaries.

Shreyas Iyer‘s Masterclass Innings

Iyer defended himself and smashed a four off Rabada’s free throw to get his second ODI century. He scored 113 runs from 111 deliveries, including 15 fours, to remain unbeaten. Sanju Samson also contributed significantly at the end. With a 30* run-knock to help Iyer in the later stages to finish the match and level the series.
