IND vs ENG: Ajinkya Rahane Dances With Daughter| Watch Video

Ajinkya Rahane is a happy man these days. He successfully led India to a series victory over Australia in Virat Kohli’s absence. Rahane was lauded for his astute captaincy and self-belief. While Rahane was quick to concede that this is Kohli’s team and he has no regrets playing second fiddle to him. He is in his best phase as a cricketer and it is reflecting on his personal side too.

Rahane lands in Chennai:

The Indian team’s Test vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane spent quality time out with his daughter during the first day of the quarantine after having landed in Chennai, the venue of the 1st Test between India and England. Rahane travelled to Chennai along with fellow Mumbaikars, Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur. The trio arrived in Chennai on Tuesday where they will train ahead of the first Test after serving the quarantine period.

Ajinkya Rahane’s wife Radhika Dhopavkar Rahane posted a video on her Instagram handle. The video showcases the cute father-daughter duo dancing to “The Finger Family” nursery rhyme. Rahane’s footwork while dancing is a connoisseur’s delight just as it is while he is batting. Radhika captioned the video saying, “ My entertainment in quarantine.”

The regulars return:

After leading the team to a stunning series victory in Australia in the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane will go back to being the vice-captain in the upcoming 4 match Test series against England. Apart from Kohli (who missed the 3 Tests owing to paternity leave), Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya, who missed out on the Test series in Australia owing to injuries, have also been included in the squad for the England series.

Members of the England team on the other hand arrived in Chennai on Wednesday, having demolished Sri Lanka 2-0 on their home turf. Skipper Joe Root led from the front, with knocks of 228 and 186 in the two Tests. He was named man of the series for his efforts.

Rahane has a point to prove:

Ajinkya Rahane will look to improve his numbers against England as he has a moderate record against the Brits. In the 13 Tests he has played against them, Rahane has only managed to score a sum of 619 runs at a paltry average of 25.79. England is one team that comes well prepared for a Test series and this series will be no different. Watch out for Rahane 2.0 in this series.
