Kohli breaks the century drought, leaving Ponting behind as he moves closer to Sachin in the list  

IND VS BAN 3RD ODI: Kohli ended his wait in ODIs with a century against Bangladesh in the series’ third and final ODI match on Saturday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. 

IND VS BAN 3RD ODI: Former India skipper Virat Kohli took the monkey off his back in the ODIs by slamming his maiden century in the 50-over format in 25 innings, spanning 1214 days. After ending the protracted century drought in international cricket three months earlier. The third and final ODI of the series was played on Saturday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, and it was Kohli’s first century in ODIs versus Bangladesh.

Ishan Kishan, scored 210 runs in a blistering and record-breaking knock. He became the fourth Indian player to make a double century and the player to reach 200 runs in an ODI inning the fastest before Kohli’s century. Shikhar Dhawan, India’s opener, left the game early for just three off eight balls. In addition, the second-wicket pair put together an incredible 290-run stand to help India win.

Kohli scored his first ODI century in more than three years after hitting 11 boundaries in 85 balls. His most recent triple-figure score came in 2019, following India’s visit to the West Indies following the ODI World Cup.

It was his 44th ODI century and 72nd overall, moving him above of Sachin Tendulkar of India and over the legendary Ricky Ponting for second place in the amazing list of most international tonnes. In ODIs, Kohli is currently five centuries short of Sachin’s record total and 28 behind in international cricket.

Along the way to the strike, Kohli reached 1000 ODI runs in Bangladesh. Passing Shane Watson of Australia as the second player to do so. He has now amassed more than 1000 runs in three different foreign countries; the other two being Australia and England.

IND VS BAN: India wants to win the third ODI to salvage some pride after losing the first two games this week and handing Bangladesh the series. 

The overall score of India 356/5, 5 over left, seems like a good number on the board for the side despite losing the he consecutive matches against the side. India needed a good break through like this which will boost the morale to boost ahead of the test series against the side also, the team to perform at the notch in the series and get back to the cricket business.
