Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar recently thrashed the Indian players for breaching Australia’s COVID-19 protocol. Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma along with Rishabh Pant, Shubhman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, and Navdeep Saini was spotted eating in an indoor restaurant in Melbourne. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant reportedly hugged an Indian fan by the name Navaldeep Singh, who paid the bill of the cricketers after spotting them in the hotel. The whole incident created a lot of headlines and the 5 above mentioned players were put into self-isolation.

IND vs AUS: Sanjay Manjrekar Slams The Indian Players
As per reports, Cricket Australia (CA) were seemingly unpleased with the actions of the visitors. A Queensland minister, while addressing the issue, said, “If the Indians don’t want to play by the rules, don’t come.” Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar shared a similar view with the minister.
On Monday, Manjrekar took his Twitter account while criticising the fellow Indians for their incomprehensible behaviour during their Australian tour. “It’s quite simple really. Either rule yourself out for selection or once selected respect the bio bubble & the strict protocols. Can’t have it both ways,” Manjrekar wrote on Twitter.

IND vs AUS: Everything is fine between BCCI and CA
Nevertheless, BCCI confirmed that all the members of the Indian national team have been tested negative for COVID-19. “Playing members of the Indian Cricket Team and support staff underwent an RT-PCR Test for Covid-19 on January 3, 2021. All tests have returned negative results,” the BCCI said.
Team India, who already served a 14-day mandatory quarantine period when they landed in Australia, were reportedly resisting to travel to Brisbane for the fourth Test considering the strict isolation rules over there. A member of the Queensland government, while addressing the above mention rumors, stated “If the Indians don’t want to play by the rules, don’t come.”
Meanwhile, Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley recently dismissed all the rumours about India being reluctant to play the Brisbane Test. “We speak to our counterparts at the BCCI daily. We’ve had nothing formal from the BCCI to suggest anything other than they’re supportive. Both teams have wanted to play the schedule as we’ve set out,” Hockley told the Australian media.
