Big Boost for Australia as they score 480 in the first innings and take a huge leap towards winning this final test match of the series

Day 2 Updates: Australia after winning the toss choose to bat first on a hot and humid day at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Then came in Usman Khawaja and Travis Head to open the innings for Australia.

Before Ashwin returned to end the match with the third new ball, the 9th-wicket partnership of Lyon and Murphy made India work really hard, on a pitch that is still not giving much to the bowlers.

IND vs AUS: Star Players on the Day -2

Usman Khawaja after failing to convert his knock into big scores in the previous test matches, now in the 4th test Khawaja finally proved his worth after scoring 180 from 422 balls. This is certainly a match-changing inning from Usman in the 4th test.

Cameron Green also proved his worth after scoring his first test century, Green was looking good until Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed him for 114 from 170 balls.

IND vs AUS: Indian Bowler not up to the mark in the 4th Test

Indian bowlers were coming into this test match with lots of confidence but the Australian players had some other plans for the Indian bowlers. Australian players like Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green, Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy all gave huge trouble to the Indian bowling unit.

But even after a lot of pressure Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made sure that Australia was not running away with the score, even though they did run away, Ashwin picked up a five-wicket haul and finally did stop the Australian attack with 12.4 overs remaining on Day-2.

Ashiwin finished his spell with 6/91 in 47 overs, Ashiwin was crucial in stopping the Ausis attack before things go out of the hands. While Shami picked two wickets but he was the most expensive bowler from the Indian side. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel both picked up one wicket each to stop Australia at 480/10 on Day 2.

IND vs AUS: Its time for Indian batsman to trouble Australian player in the final 10 overs of Day-2

With 10 overs remaining it seemed like the Indian dough out would certainly send a night watchman, but it was not what happened Rohit and Gill came on to bat the final 10 overs of Day-2.

At the end of Day-2, India scored 36/0 and Rohit Sharma was at 17 runs from 33 balls, while Shubman Gill was at 18 runs from 27 balls. Now with a huge total ahead to chase down, India will have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to strike. India will have to play sensibly in order to stay in the game.
