India topped the points table as they finished with 15 points while Australia settled with 14 points after the defeat against South Africa.

India will now take on the first semi-final clash of world cup 2019 with New Zealand at Old Trafford while England will take on Australia in the second semi-finals at the Edgbaston.

The weather forecast suspects rain in both the semi-finals. If this happens it will be a big disappointment for all the cricketing fans all over the globe.

However, we have seen that the first half of the World Cup was often spoiled because of rain and a total of four matches were washed out of the World Cup due to the rain.

Coming to the present scenario, there is a 40% chance of rain in the first semi-final to be played on Tuesday in Manchester.

On the other hand, there is a 30% chance of rain in the second semi-finals in Birmingham on Thursday. keeping this situation in view, the International Cricket Council have made two reserve days for two semi-final matches.

But the weather forecast has made another statement that there would be a possibility of rain in the reserve days too. In the reserve days, if the match couldn’t go for at least 20 overs then super over will be adaptable to decide which team will go to finals.

Super over is the one which should be played in the allotted extra time which is generally applicable in case if the game is ending with a tie. If the super over is also not possible then they will go with the teams having the highest points in the points table.

That means India will be finalized for the finals in the first semi-finals as India tops the points table with 15 points whereas New Zealand is with only 11 points.

In the second semi-finals, Australia will be in finals as it has 14 points, occupying the second position in the points table whereas England is with 12 points stands in the third position. In these cases, we could see a final clash between India and Australia.
