Ben Stokes singlehandedly won the game against Australia by one wicket in the third Ashes Test at Headingley on Sunday.
Ben Stokes, who has smashed an unbeaten 84 in the World Cup finals, was once again said to be the “greatest cricketer of all time” by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This couldn’t be taken by Sachin fans and started mocking the ICC twitter handlers.
It was after England’s greatest ever victory in the 50-over world champions, ICC’s official Twitter handle had posted a picture of Stokes with Tendulkar and captioned it, “The greatest cricketer of all time – and Sachin Tendulkar”.
The ICC once again shared the same captioned picture with a tag line, “Told you so”. As of the last time, ICC’s tweet did not go well with Tendulkar’s fans. Although Stokes deserves all the accolades for producing one of the best Test knocks ever, he cannot be called the greatest cricketer ever, Tendulkar’s fans believe.
Told you so 😉 https://t.co/b4SFcEVDWk

England was stumbling at 286 for 9 while chasing 359 and were at a meer to losing side. It was Ben Stokes who took the onus on himself to play one of the greatest innings and lead England to a winning side. The Aussies were left stunned out looking at Stokes batting.
Ben Stokes left hitting off-spinner Nathan Lyon for three sixes and then followed that up by hitting Josh Hazlewood for a four and a double six in three consecutive balls, during which he crossed his century. He eventually ended the game by dispatching Pat Cummins for a four through the covers.
Just that you are saying so don't think that we are going to believe

I think Sachin deserves more respect than this.. In the late 90s he shouldered the Entire Indian cricket team on his Own..countless times.. The only difference.. There wasn't any Twitter during that time..

You got both the wins for free.. poor umpiring decisions! Yes Ben Stokes played well but if the match wasn't won.. his innings both the time would have been just a good inning. #ridiculous to call him greatest cricketer ..#shame
