England seeking to add T20 title over 50-over Cup: Right after England defeated India in the semi-final in a comprehensive way their confidence is now on sky level and the English side is now aiming to add T20 World Cup title to their shelf of achievements. Consisting the recently won World Cup 2019 trophy.
England’s journey in this world cup has been a roller-coaster but they are in the finals and are all set to claim their second T20 World Cup.
The English team has been playing tremendous cricket since their 50-over World Cup win at home in 2019. Let’s look at England’s journey in the past 3 years and their chances to win the T20 World Cup 2022.
ICC World Cup 2019 and the next 3 years of England Cricket
The team was playing under the calm captain Eoin Morgan. But despite playing at their home conditions they were not the favourites to win.
People anticipated that they will reach the semis but will not win the cup.

That was the moment England cricket emerged as the super team in world cricket. Cricket lovers however, believe there win was at all acceptable. But they won by rule and it is acceptable.
They reached the semis in 2021 World Cup, but New Zealand took the revenge and defeated them.
With form was not in his side, Eoin Morgan announced his retirement from international cricket in June 2022.
Jos Buttler – the shining captain of England
Buttler then announced as the skipper of team England as soon as Morgan stepped down.
His first two assignments were not went good as his side lost both to India and South Africa by 2-1.
But as soon as they reached Australia before the World Cup. They outlasted the hosts in the 3-match T20I series by 2-0 and announced their presence.
The Three Lions side started their world cup campaign on a good note with a solid win over Afghanistan in their first.
But a shocking defeat to Ireland almost shut their doors for the semis. But the Jos Buttler side fought it hard and went on to win all their remaining games to reach the semis and then defeated the mighty India very easily.
England now have to lock horns with Pakistan on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the big final.
Their record against the Pakistan is also in their favour as they have won 18 games while the men in green only won 9. And with the kind of form their players are carrying it is likely that the men in red will start the game as the favourites to win the cup.
