A huge crowd is fighting for the entry tickets for the match between India and Pakistan which is going to be held on 16 June, Sunday in Manchester’s Old Trafford cricket grounds. This is been an awaiting match for all cricket fans across the globe.
The Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground has got 26,000 tickets for the audience and was filled out within 48 hours of their release. The organizers have noticed that around 500,000 people have put requests for the tickets. It was not sufficient even though two-thirds of the tickets were given to the Indian fans and only 18 percent of the tickets were allocated to the Pakistan fans.
The highest priced adult platinum ticket was sold at a price of $300 and just a week before the Viagogo has started it resale of Gold face tickets at a price $6000.
“Ticket sellers compete to offer the best price to customers.”-Viagogo stated.
“Viagogo is a marketplace. Ticket sellers on the marketplace set their own prices, which may be above or below the original face value. Where demand is high and tickets are limited, prices increase.” – Viagogo.
After a bilateral series in the year 2013, there hasn’t been any test series since 2007. So, both the countries fans have been waiting for the tournaments. Further, Pakistani players were not seen in the Indian Premier League and not even in the tewnty20 tournaments.
This year there were many political issues between the countries. So, Indian cricketer wanted to boycott the Pakistani’s from the league. They also wanted Pakistan to be removed from the tournaments. So they kept a great pressure on ICC by threatening them that they will be boycotting the whole event if they don’t do it.
This was happened after the Pakistans attack over the Kashmir, killing 40 soldiers in a bomb blast which was said as the suicide attack in Kashmir. After that attack, India has made an air-strike on the militant’s camps inside Pakistan in early hours.
In a One Day International against Australia, the Indian team has put army camouflage caps while fielding to represent the lost lives.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani said “We believe cricket and sport should not be used for politics,” in a news conference he went on to add “India’s credibility in the cricketing world has gone down very badly.”
India and Pakistan have made six world cups so far and India has topped in all of them. In the present world cup, India has placed third in the points table.
