Team India’s unstoppable run on foreign soil

During the course of last one month, team India have played some nail-biting games and emerged as winners to force critics call team India the unstoppable team on the foreign soil.

Last night in Trinidad, India defeated the hosts West Indies by 2 wickets again in a breath taking match to not just secure the 3-match series but also set the recorded of becoming the no.1 team to win 12 consecutive ODI series against single opponent.

The series win against West Indies marked as India’s 12th back-to-back win over West Indies, surpassing previous record of Pakistan of 11 consecutive win over Zimbabwe.

5 different captains in 1 month

After the completion of the home series against South Africa in June. Team India travelled to Ireland for the 2-match T20 series.

Hardik Pandya (1) was named as the skipper of the side with Bhuvneshwar Kumar his deputy as all the senior players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja were in England for the big English tour.

The men in blue won both the games, first by 7 wickets and second won by 4 runs.

A couple of days ahead of the one-off test against England, the regular skipper of India had tested positive for COVID, thus he was ruled out the test. In his absence Jasprit Bumrah (2) was selected to lead the team.

The first-time captain’s side were in full control of the game during the first three days, but the table had turned in the last two days and India faced a defeat.

At the same time of the test match, the second team were playing warm-up T20 matches under another first-time captain Dinesh Karthik (3), where India won both the games.

The regular skipper Rohit Sharma (4) was back in team for the T20 games against England, and India after winning the first two games secured the series by 2-1.

Then they move ahead to play 3-match ODI series against the same opponent, England. They won the first, lost second, but again turned victoriously in third match to claim the ODI series by 2-1.

After dominating England in England, team India finished their tour on Sunday, July 17.

And the team head towards West Indies for the limited-over series, 3-ODIs and 5-T20Is. For the ODIs, the selectors provided rest to Rohit Sharma, considering workload management that makes Shikhar Dhawan (5) the skipper of team India.

In the ongoing 3-match series against the men in maroon team, the men in blue under Shikhar Dhawan already won the first two matches to clinch the series.
