Why Rohit Sharma will miss first ODI against AUS? India and Australia are preparing for an ODI assignment, which could be crucial in a number of ways after a closely contested four-match Test series. After playing three-match series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, India will face their hardest test at home in the 50-over format in 2023, while Australia is still assembling their team in the post-Aaron Finch era. But, with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 not too far away, both countries will be hoping to get their lineups just right as part of the buildup to the prestigious competition.

But, India will miss the services of it’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma in the important series, as he will not be available to play the first ODI on March 17.

Captain Rohit Sharma is repeatedly miss the series opener at his home stadium, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, since he has to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding. In his absence, Hardik Pandya will serve as the team’s captain for India.
