Right after the test series, India will have to play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs starting on July 7. Considering test game’s fatigue, the selection committee has decided to give the senior players a 3-day recovery time before they start their limited-over campaign.

According to Inside Sports, a source in the BCCI confirmed the latest developments regarding 1st T20I. “The squad that played the T20I series in Ireland will remain in the first T20I. And then from the second T20I, all the stars (Rohit, if fit, Kohli, Bumrah, Pant, Jadeja) will make a comeback.”

“Once they are well rested, all of them will be a part of the regular white ball side. But most of the players in Ireland will remain till the end of T20I series.”

Team India’s all-format captain Rohit Sharma was recently tested COVID positive and will likely to miss the first test. In his absence the vice-captain of India Jasprit Bumrah might be appointed as the skipper for the first time.

However, if Rohit will not be able to recover before the test, he will likely to get fit before the 1st T20 and will lead the Indian side.
