Happy Birthday Tillakaratne Dilshan 

Mudiyanselage Tillakaratne Dilshan, popularly known as Tillakaratne Dilshan is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and former captain of the Sri Lanka national team. He went to school at Kalutara Vidyalaya. He is frequently recognized as the top-rated Sri Lankan player in ODI history when it comes to run-chases. 

Early Stages Of His Life   

Dilshan was one of five siblings born on October 14, 1976, in Kalutara, Sri Lanka, to a Malay father and a Sinhalese mother. He received his primary education from Jaffna Sinhala Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna, and he later completed his secondary school at the Kalutara Vidyalaya, where he began his cricket career as a teen. His entire focus was on improving in sports because his family did not want him to play cricket.

A powerful right-handed batsman. He is famous for his scoop shoot, also known as the Dilscoop.

Mariage Life  

Dilshan was married to Nilanka Vithanage, with whom he had a son named Resadu Tillakaratne. Following her divorce from Dilshan, Nilanka brought a claim for child support. After the 2011 Cricket World Cup, he received a notice to appear in court. However, he rejected some of these notifications. Later, the matter was resolved, and Dilshan agreed to pay his ex-wife and kid roughly $50,000 per month.  

Dilshan is currently wed to Manjula Thilini, a Sri Lankan actress. During the 2008 IPL season, they celebrated their wedding in India. From this union, Dilshan has two daughters and two boys. Resandi Linama Tillakaratne is their first child, and Lasadi Dihasansa Tillakaratne is their second. Dihela Dinhath Tillakaratne is their elder son, while their younger son is born in 2017.

22 One-Day International centuries, 16 Test centuries, and 1 Twenty20 International century belong to Dilshan. He is the first cricketer in history to the captain himself while scoring hundreds in every format.  

He is the sixth person overall and the second Sri Lankan to score an international century in all formats of the game. In Test matches, ODI matches, and Twenty20 International games, Dilshan has struck 39 hundred across all formats of the game.  

He has played 87 Test matches, 330 ODI’s, and 80 T20Is. where he has scored 5492 runs in Test, 10290 runs in ODI, and 1889 runs in T20Is.
