Gautam Gambhir Not Happy With Kohli’s Decision On Rahul

Gautam Gambhir On Rahul As Keeper

Gautam Gambhir is a former Indian cricket player who has played all the formats of the game. In the recent disclosure by captain Virat Kohli is that K L Rahul will keep wickets and going to bat in the middle overs. But Gambhir doesn’t like the idea of KL Rahul keeping wickets in ODIs.

According to him, Rahul is an important and strong player for India and he feels that he should not be loaded with the job of wicket-keeping in ODIs.

Gambhir also suggests that opening is the best suited to Rahul and it would not be good to try any change with his batting position.

Prithvi Shaw Debut In ODI And T20

Virat Kohli confirmed that Prithvi Shaw is going to make his debut in ODI and T20 cricket. He will play as an opener in the innings against New Zealand in the first ODI in Hamilton.

Rahul has played as an opener against New Zealand in the recent T20I series. But in ODIs, Kohli wants him to settle himself in the middle-order.

Gautam Gambhir Unsure About Rahul

Gambhir has said in his interview that he is not that much sure if removing KL Rahul from the top order is a great idea or not. Also, he added that if possible India could have gone with an opening combination of Rahul and Agarwal and Rishabh Pant keeping the wickets.

Rahul is a valuable player and should be well looked after. He has done his job very well behind the stumps in the games that he has kept. But in the 50-over format, Gambhir is not sure he should be expected to keep.
