Focus Of Youngsters Is To Play IPL And Not Four-Day Cricket

Yuvraj Singh is one of the biggest match-winners India has produced in this century. His fans loved the Punjab left-arm batsman who played a significant role in the 2007 and 2011 World Cup victories. While the world was at home during this COVID-19 threat, Yuvraj spoke about IPL and its impact on young cricketers.

He appeared to be digging cleverly at the tournament. He talked about the younger generation of players and their behaviors. Yuvraj Singh said he believes that the fact that the IPL gives Yuvraj a vast amount of money will affect them.

He said most young players were not as focused on playing four-day cricket on their domestic side. Yuvraj believes that the format of the T20 will affect his batting, even though current cricketers have agreed to play Test cricket.

Big money in the IPL is taking away the focus, says Yuvraj Singh

“The IPL offers significant money, and it takes away the attention (from young people). They want to play Tests, but youngsters who play ODI cricket, “Their focus is to play IPL, not four-day cricket for the state,” Yuvraj Singh said in an interview with a sports star.

The former Indian all-rounder said the current generation of players does not have much respect for their seniors. He believes that during his tenure, players have been given a lot of respect for their senior cricketers.

“From interacting with young people, you realize that they have a lot of respect for seniors. This is not the same as what we gave our seniors. You should have some respect for seniors who have taught you so much,” he said.

Yuvraj Singh, who played for the Mumbai Indians, hung up his shoes from the IPL last season. He signed off with an IPL trophy win, but he was not a member of XI in the second half of the tournament. After announcing his retirement, Yuvi participated in foreign leagues. He played in the Global T20 Canada and T10 leagues. He starred for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series.
