Fist Fight In DDCA Meeting – Gambhir Requests Members To Resolve Issues

On Sunday, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials met. They indulged in punching with fists during the state cricket body’s annual general meeting on Sunday.

Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian batsman and a BJP member of Parliament, tweeted a video in which some officials of DDCA can be seen fighting on stage. The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and board secretary Jay shah were requested by Gautam Gambhir to close down the state unit with immediate effect and demanded a life ban for those involved in the fight.

In the 43-second- lengthy video, a man can be seen attacking towards another man with his fists raised before some of them interfered to separate the two. However, the situation got out of control after many of the men started attacking with blows on the stage.

According to news agency Indo Asian News Service, DDCA joint secretary Rajan Manchanda was slapped by one of those who can be seen in the confusing melee which reportedly arose after the members could not agree on the list of matters to be discussed at the meeting.

The DDCA updated a statement on its official Twitter handle, without mentioning the quarrel at the annual general meeting.

After the dramatic act annual general meeting, the DDCA named Justice Deepak Verma as an officially elected by the government and announced that the association’s president will be elected by January 13.

“We had five points, all were adopted. Yes, we had some debates, but nothing worth mentioning,” DDCA director Sanjay Bharadwaj told to IANS.

It was an AGM where a lot of chaos ensued at the center of a stage. Joint secretary Rajan Manchanda was supposedly manhandled by Apex Council members.

The agenda was also allegedly forced despite disagreement, according to sources.

While on the agenda the first two points had accounts related, the third had a re-appointment of two directors. In the fifth point, the appointment of the new Ombudsman was chartered with Justice Deepak Verma assigned a task to do the job.
