Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam has caught the attention for all the wrong reasons. According to sources close to PTI, the case was filed against the star cricketer basis a sexual exploitation complaint. The complaint alleged that the 26-year-old cricketer forced a woman to undergo an abortion and gave assurance of false marriage promises. The petitioner has gone on to the extent of annexing her medical documents as evidence against the cricketer.
Babar Azam in trouble over troublesome allegations
The additional sessions judge of the Lahore court, Noman Muhammad Naeem heard arguments of both the parties and later directed the SHO of Naseerabad police station to immediately register an FIR against Azam. The judge, Noman Muhammad Naeem felt that the allegations levelled were pretty disturbing and he didn’t take long before ordering an in-depth investigation on the matter.
The issue seems to have boiled up pretty quickly as Hamiza Mukhtar, the complainant, confirmed that the FIR has been lodged at the Naseerabad police station. The report stated that Babar and his family members were earlier directed by the court not to harass the complainant. She admitted to having received threat calls and was asked to withdraw the case. The woman opined that she had tried to register an FIR against the cricketer earlier as well. But owing to Babar Azam’s marriage promise, she withdrew the complaint.
