Suryakumar Ashok Yadav, popularly known as SKI was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 14 September 1990. Suryakumar Yadav is an Indian right-hand batter who has been a part of the Indian ODI and T20I squad for the past 1 year. However, he has a lot of experience in first-class cricket. He is known for maintaining a high strike rate and hitting bowlers all over the ground. SKI is yet to make his debut in Test cricket. Suryakumar Yadav has been an integral member of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League for the past couple of years and that is the reason that he was retained in the TATA IPL 2022 by Mumbai Indians ahead of the Mega auctions.

Suryakumar Yadav Early Life and Education
Suryakumar Yadav started playing cricket at the age of 7 years. At an early age, he was interested in cricket as well as badminton. But, his father asked him to pursue anyone out of them to focus more. Fortunately, SKI chose cricket and his father got him enrolled in the Vengsarkar cricket academy where he developed his skills and also started playing in his school team. Suryakumar Yadav attended Atomic Energy Central School in Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav played many age-level matches and won many games for his team.
SKI graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Pillai College of Arts, Commerce, and Science in Mumbai.

Suryakumar Yadav Domestic Career
Suryakumar Yadav started off his domestic career back in 2010 when he was picked up in the Mumbai squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament.
In the same year, he was picked in the Ranji team for Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy match in the 2010-11 season against Delhi and scored 73 runs in the first innings. He was the highest scorer for his team in the innings.
Suryakumar Yadav smashed the highest runs for Mumbai in the season. He scored 754 runs in just 9 matches including a double century.
Suryakumar Yadav became a consistent member of the squad and played many matches for them.
In his career now, Suryakumar Yadav has played 77 first-class matches and scored 5326 runs including 10 centuries and 20 half centuries, and the best score of 200 runs in an innings. He has also taken 24 wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav started off his international career when he made his debut in a T20I match against England on 14 March 2021. However, he didn’t get a chance to bat in the match.
In his 2nd ODI where he batted for the first time in an Indian jersey, SKI smashed a half-century that too started with a six on the first ball. SKI became the first Indian player to hit a six on his first ball of T20I cricket. Later, he was also picked up in the Indian ODI squad against England. However, didn’t get a chance to appear in playing-11.
Suryakumar Yadav was picked up in the limited over series against Sri Lanka in June 2021. SKI made his ODI debut in the series on 18 July 2021. Suryakumar Yadav smashed his maiden ODI half-century in the 2nd match of the series.
In the same month, he was picked up in the Indian Test squad for the series against England. However, he didn’t get a chance to appear in playing-11/
Suryakumar Yadav was also included in the Indian squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021 held in UAE.
In 2022, Suryakumar Yadav was picked up in the squad for the series against Ireland and then England.
Suryakumar Yadav IPL Career
Suryakumar Yadav made his Indian Premier League debut back in 2012 when he was roped in by Mumbai Indians. He played just 1 match in the season but scored 0.
He wasn’t picked in 2013, but was roped in by KKR in 2014 and played 16 matches in the season but failed to impress with the bat.
By that time, Suryakumar Yadav became a regular member of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad and played for them in the middle order till IPL 2017.
In the mega auction of IPL 2018, Suryakumar Yadav was picked up by Mumbai Indians for a whopping amount of 3.2 crores. Since then, fortuned turned for SKI and he started batting at numbers 3 and 4 and also scored many runs for the franchise.
In IPL 2020, Suryakumar Yadav scored 480 runs including 4 half centuries.
After getting impressed by his performances, the franchise decided to retain him for the TATA IPL 2022 ahead of the mega auction for 8 crores. However, due to his injury, Suryakumar Yadav joined the squad in the latter half of the season and played 8 matches. He scored 303 runs in just 8 matches including 3 half-centuries.
