Which Players Opted Out Of IPL 2022
According to an insider, Ben Stokes, Mitchell Starc, Chris Gayle, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Joe Root, and Jofra Archer are among the prominent absentees from the impending auction lists. Discussing the same happenings, Starc was anticipated to make his comeback to the tournament after a seven-year absence, and he dropped hints at it as well.
“I’ve got two days to get my paperwork in, so that might be something to do today before training. I’ve not put my name down just yet, but I’ve got a couple more days to decide on that. It’s certainly on the table regardless of what the schedule has got coming up. I’m feeling good. It’s (Selection) purely up to the selectors, I’m not looking for a break. It’s the last Test match of an Ashes series at home, it’s the pink ball too so I’d very much like to play,” said Starc earlier.

I care so much about Test cricket in our country: Joe Root
“I think that there’s a lot that we need to do for this team, which deserves all of my energy. I really hope I get the opportunity to do it. I’ll keep sacrificing as much as I can because I care so much about Test cricket in our country and trying to get us to where we can,” said Joe Root.
On the other part, great English all-rounder Ben Stokes has said firmly that he would be unavailable for the forthcoming auction in order to focus on England’s Test side following the Ashes failure. Curran, who was let go by his CSK, is also scheduled to skip the massive tournament for unspecified reasons. Speaking of Jofra Archer, who was out last year owing to a string of injuries, Chris Gayle may have opted himself out due to the age considerations.
Among participants who have entered the big auction, 41 are from associated nations, and 49 have set their suggested price at the maximum of INR 2 crore.
