Legendary Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar Will Be Seen In A New Avatar:
A match between Warne XI and Ponting XI will be played next month for the bushfire relief victims on February 8. The Big Bash League final match of the ongoing 9th season will also take place on the same day after the relief match.
This match is played for a noble cause and it will include notable cricketers of the past such as Michael Clarke, Justin Langer, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Shane Watson, and Alex Blackwell, among others.
While Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting will lead the two sides. Former women’s player Mel Jones and former captain Steve Waugh will be involved in non-playing roles.
Sachin Tendulkar Will Coach Ponting XI:
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will also be there in the bushfire relief match as he will coach the Ponting XI according to an announcement made by Cricket Australia.
Courtney Walsh, the former fast bowler of West Indies, will, meanwhile, coach the Warne XI. “We are undoubtedly honored to be welcoming the great players Courtney Walsh and Sachin back to Australia where they both were enjoyed a lot of success in cricket. We can’t wait for what is going on a special day to have them involved,” said Kevin Roberts, the Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer said in an announcement.
He added, “In the International Cricket Council(ICC) Hall of Fame, in international cricket, Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest run-scorer of all time. We all recollect how Courtney could play with the ball, taking more than 500 wickets. We are looking forward to our people at Cricket Australia and the whole Australian cricket family coming together for the Big Appeal”.
All profits and funds collected on that day would be given to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
