Pakistan Captain Is Getting Impressed On The Rise Of Indian Cricket:
Mushtaq Muhammad, One of Pakistan’s best captains get impressed on the great rise of Indian cricket. He is 76 years old now, and he is from Birmingham. In an interview, he praised the Indian cricket team and fantastic player Virat Kohli.
Mushtaq further said that the India national cricket team is much advanced than Pakistan cricket and some other countries. With small structural changes, they have grown a fantastic cricket system. The international and domestic players are well paid and maintained a strong group of players.
In 1976, when Mushtaq became captain, he was trying to establish self-confidence in the Pakistan team and creating a positivity and winning mindset among the players.
Muhammad belongs to the popular cricketing family of Muhammad brothers. In the home series, he led Pakistan and won against India and New Zealand. Along with this, he also won test matches in Australia, in West Indies and defeated New Zealand in their own land.
But before the famous tour of Pakistan to India in 1978/79, in which India won the test series, he was removed as the captain and player of Pakistan national cricket team by some senior players.
Mushtaq is an allrounder. He played 10 ODIs and 57 Tests from 1959 to 1979. After becoming Pakistan’s head coach, he led the team to their first-ever tri-series one-day victory in Australia as well as to the final of the 1999 World Cup.
Kohli Is Lucky To Have Such Players:
“Indian cricket is at the top position now. They have played several matches at home and proved their capability in their foreign visits. But Pakistan hardly plays a regular Test series.” Further, Mushtaq had admired Indian skipper Virat Kohli and hitman Rohit Sharma, by calling them, world-class players.
Mushtaq also added that “Kohli himself is an outstanding captain and blessed to have such a team of players. When I take a look at the Indian players, I realize that they are pushing forward step by step according to their own capability”.
Also, he said in grief that “It is pitiful for somebody like me. Because I played a large number of matches against and with Indian players. I have got a lot of experience & knowledge from them and they from me. Tragically because of some governmental issues India wouldn’t like to play respective matches with us”.
