Chetan Sharma Has Opined That MS Dhoni Will Now Have To Fight For His Place:
MS Dhoni has contributed a great deal to the Indian team, but the former Indian skipper will have to struggle to take his place in the Indian National Team, says Chetan Sharma, former India all-rounder. Sharma praised Dhoni but also said that his inaccessibility raised questions before the selectors, in a conversation with media.
“No one can deny Dhoni ‘s contributions to the Indian team are very significant. He has scaled up in all formats and brought glory to the squad at all three major ICC tournaments. Nevertheless, his inaccessibility has been posing concerns before the selectors for too long, “he said.
Sharma also said that Dhoni will now struggle in the national team for his spot, adding that he said, KL Rahul, has done exceptionally well. In the absence of Dhoni, Rishabh Pant was tried first by team management, but he’s not an XI player on white-ball cricket now. Rahul, a regular home cricket wicket-keeper, is now dressing his glove and finishing work at ODIs.
Dhoni Extended His Break And Missed The Complete Home Season:
“A few young people have cemented their place in the team because of his absence. In India ‘s recent outings there is KL Rahul which has done exceptionally well. Then there is also a conflict between Rishabh Pant. So MS Dhoni is now going to be fighting for an Indian team spot, “added Sharma.
Between 1984 and 1994, the 54-year-old was involved in 23 tests and 65 ODIs. Sharma was also the very first bowler in the 1987 World Cup to take a hat trick.
As we talk about Dhoni, since July 2019, the 38-year-old has avoided competitive crickets. After the ICC event, he was reported to take a break but Dhoni extended his room and skipped the whole season and New Zealand tour.
In IPL 2020, Dhoni was expected to return to competitive cricket, but the competition is reportedly postponed due to the pandemic of the coronavirus. BCCI hopes the league will be formed but no clear update on its future is now available.
Fans are expecting Dhoni in action urgently before IPL 2020. It’s not reported that he will play again in India, but Dhoni will lead the Yellow Army whenever it takes place in the T20.
