Ireland is set to tour West Indies in January 2020 for a three-match ODI and as many T20 Internationals, announced by Cricket West Indies on Monday.
The series will begin at Barbados with the first two ODIs on January 7 followed by the third one at Grenada. Then they will go with the first T20 series on January 15 before moving to St.Kitts to conclude the tour.
“It’s going to be a great start to the New Year to welcome Ireland and their fans to the West Indies for this six-match series,” – commercial director of Cricket West Indies Dominic Warne said.
“It will be an exciting contest on the pitch as the West Indies play at home for the first time in five months. Off the pitch, we know that two of the most colorful and noisy sets of fans in world cricket will come together to create a great atmosphere for both the Colonial Medical Insurance One Day Series followed by the T20I Series.” – he added.
Ireland has won only three out of the 15 games in the Caribbean and Ed Joyce was the one who led Ireland to their first international win in 2014 over West Indies.
The two sides had met in Ireland in May earlier in the year as part of an ODI tri-series where West Indies won both the games.
