IND vs ENG 1st Test Predicted Playing 11
India will meet England in the first Test in a five-match series, which starts on Thursday in Hyderabad. India will be without star pacer Mohammed Shami while he recovers from an ankle injury sustained during the World Cup.
The Rohit Sharma-led side will also be without former captain Virat Kohli, who has withdrew from the squad for the first two Tests for personal reasons. The selection committee chose Rajat Patidar, a Madhya Pradesh batsman, to replace Kohli in the games in Hyderabad and Vizag.
Patidar, who has yet to make his debut, played for India A and scored 151 against England Lions in Ahmedabad. The right-handed hitter is now in peak form, which will benefit the hosts in their upcoming Test series against England.
