The Australian cricketer David Warner who had a sensation World Cup tournament is struggling to get things done in the Test format. During the 4th Ashes test, Warner was going down the line to score runs and has failed to get a double-digit and left the field. Here we talk about ICC Trolled David Warner.
David Warner has registered scores of 2, 8, 2, 5, 61, 0, and 0 and was not able to contribute a good score to the team. Moreover, England pacer Stuart Broad has dismissed Warner five times in seven innings and the left-handed Aussie opener just can’t tackle the threat possessed by Broad.
Warner was badly trolled by the ICC on Wednesday for his double duck in both the innings of the ongoing fourth Ashes 2019 Test at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Earlier, Cricket Australia had posted a captioned photograph of Warner ahead of the Test which is written as: “David Warner resumes his battle with Stuart Broad… #Ashes.”
The veteran seamer bowled a length ball which has pitched outside the off-stump. Warner thought of taking the bat away from the line of the delivery but his late reactions made the ball take a thick edge before traveling straight to the gloves of wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow who took a regulation catch to dismiss the Aussie opener.
After Warner’s dismissal, ICCmade a quick reply to Cricket Australia’s tweet as they wrote, “This aged well #Ashes” followed by a laughing emoji.
ICC Trolled David Warner:
On day one of the fourth Test, Australia went on to bat first after winning the toss. Board seems to give a tough game to Aussie as it seems a troublesome situation to openers. Both the openers were dismissed at a very early stage. Board intent delivery led to the dismissal of Warner while the nip-backer caught Marcus Harris plumb in front of the stumps.
However, Steve Smith in partnership with Marnus Labuschagne stitched a 116-run stand before Labuschagne was dismissed by Craig Overton for 67. By the end of the day, Smith was batting on 67 while Travis Head remained unbeaten on 18 with Australia’s score made a 170/3 at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
