Like Any Other, I Am Also MS Dhoni’s Fan:
MS Dhoni’s absence from the match led to many speculations on his future on international cricket. The whole fraternity of crickets is looking forward to the return of Dhoni to the national team. In a stunning loss to New Zealand in the 2019 Semifinal World Cup, the 38-year-old last played in the Indian jersey. The former skipper of India has been away from the game since then.
In addition, Dhoni has raised that his withdrawal right from the annual list of BCCI contracts. Die-hard Dhoni supporters, however, hoped that in the much-anticipated IPL 2020 they will see him back on the cricket field. Yet, as the COVID-19 outbreak indefinitely postponed the tournament, fate took another turn.
Dhoni ‘s future is currently threatened, as there is no question about the start of IPL 2020. While Dhoni ‘s problem of returning prevails, India’s former head selector, MSK Prasad, has expressed his opinion on the national comeback of the former Indian skipper.
After the questioning regarding Dhoni ‘s return, the former head of the BCCI selection committee was fairly diplomatic. Prasad said he’s a Dhoni fan, and he’s even looking forward to seeing the wicketkeeper-batsman back into action.
MSK Prasad also heaps praise on KL Rahul
“I was also waiting to see him at the IPL, like any other fan of MSD. Sadly, due to the prevalent situation, the IPL had been postponed”, said MSK Prasad in an interview.
Prasad also spoke to Team India on Rishab Pant ‘s tenure and said that after being compared with MS Dhoni, the young batman was under pressure.
“He’s the only Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to have tests over centuries in both England and Australia and, unfortunately, when compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it’s not always easy to step into the shoes of a legendary cricket player. He must have gone through tough times because of these expectations on him,” added Prasad.
Praising KL Rahul, Prasad also said the Karnataka lad could deliver in every format. Given a rough time, KL Rahul ‘s rise to glory was brilliant, and the right-hander was a critical national trap.
“KL Rahul is a fantastic player who is able to perform well through all kinds of formats. Yes, he has had a rough time. But he’s done some hard work and gone home cricket. Also he has done Karnataka very well and returned stronger.
