Happy birthday Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar, an Indian seamer who is celebrating his birthday on August 7, has been a gem and valuable addition to the Indian cricket squad. Chahar, who made his Indian debut on July 8, 2018, against England, has bowled some excellent spells, particularly in the game’s shortest format. The seamer has 20 T20I wickets under his belt after 14 games at an economy rate of 7.59. Let’s examine some of Chahar’s most impressive spells from all of the forms as he approaches his 30th birthday.
When he bowled the greatest T20I spell of all time against Bangladesh in November 2019, Deepak Chahar wrote history. Chahar took six wickets while giving up only seven runs while playing against Bangladesh in the last T20 International of the three-match series. A hat-trick was among the six wickets taken. The seamer grabbed a wicket with the final delivery of the 18th over, then in the following over, he claimed two more wickets with two consecutive balls.
In the game’s shortest format, Chahar’s hat-trick on that particular day became him the first Indian bowler to do so. Additionally, he broke the previous record for the greatest T20I spell held by Sri Lankan legend Ajantha Mendis.
Rajasthan Cricket Academy rejected Deepak Chahar’s ability to swing bowl. He nonetheless made his First-Class debut for the Rajasthan team that had turned him down. As the opponent in the debut, Hyderabad was reduced to a humiliating 21-run all out by a Deepak storm of 8 wickets. His numbers were 8 through 10. He never looked back after making Hyderabad’s total for the Ranji Trophy the lowest.
Although he doesn’t move quickly, his precision and ball-swinging skills make him deadly. He has 126 wickets in 45 First-Class games, with four 5-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul.
He experienced a taste of fame and glitz when Rising Pune Supergiants chose him for the IPL. He added more equipment throughout his two years at RPS working with MS Dhoni and developed into a Power Play Specialist bowler. He was a key contributor to RPS’s success in the 2017 IPL Final.
After being selected by CSK for the next season, he became MS Dhoni’s go-to player. Deepak has excelled at CSK, winning a title and a medal for runners-up.
He recorded the best bowler T-20I statistics against Bangladesh, taking 6 wickets for 7 runs. Three of those six wickets were included in a hat-trick. He is the first male cricketer from India to score a hat-trick in a T-20I match.
Although Deepak is still fresh to international cricket, he is improving every day. Only a few days prior, he used a bat instead of a ball to save India from losing.
Still, Deepak has a lot to gain as an Indian player, and we hope that he will also receive a Test cap.
Deepak, happy birthday!
