IPL Cricket: The “Year In Search 2022” report from Google has just been released, and it includes a list of the topics that generated the most interest and searches this year.
India’s search trends have changed noticeably since last year, according to the list, which is published annually for various nations. In contrast to coronavirus-related searches, which dominated the list of popular searches in 2021, people searched more about entertainment, games, and other topics this year.
Indian Searched things in Google during the 2022 Year
The FIFA World Cup, which started on November 20 in Qatar, was the third most trending search topic in India. The Asia Cup and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, respectively, took the fourth and fifth spots, which were both held by sporting events.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) was both the most searched sporting event in India in 2022 and the overall trending search results. It was followed by Cowin, a government website gateway that streamlines COVID-19 vaccination registrations and appointments and generates digital vaccination certificates.
Cricket is Religion in India
Millions of people in India, where cricket is revered as a religion, are also avid sports fans. The year 2022 saw many of significant athletic events planned, making it a busy year for the sports industry.

In contrast to last year, when the majority of sporting activities were held behind closed doors in the previous two years, in 2022 millions of spectators were able to see some of the largest sporting events live from the stadium.
