David Warner Mentioned Virat Kohli While Receiving Allan Border Medal

David Warner Received Allan Border Medal

David Warner, who is the former captain of the Australia team has received the prestigious Allan Border medal after defeating his mates Steve Smith by 1 vote and Pat Cummins. The Allan Border Medal award is given to the best Australian cricketer in the male category.

Warner has won the award twice in 2016 and 2017 but winning it for the third time was totally something that not even Warner would have expected.

Warner Got Emotional

Warner couldn’t control his feelings and got emotional while receiving the award. He remembered the unfortunate time of his career when he was charged with an international ban for ball-tampering.

And also the unpleasant memories of ashes series after returning to the team. He had an excellent experience in the World Cup in England and regarded as the second-highest scorer in the tournament.

Naming The Top Players

Meantime, he also remembered Indian captain Virat Kohli as well as his few teammates, while reflecting on the video that goes viral in which his daughters are playing cricket in their lawn.

Warners said that he has 3 daughters who are admiring top players like Smith and Cummin while playing cricket in the backyard and yelling out Virat Kohli’s name. He feels that these are the smiles that they put on kids’ faces.

After naming the class-players, he further thanked his family. He expressed his gratitude to his parents, brother, and wife for their support. And he broke down while mentioning his wife.

Warner is going strong in the year 2020 also after scoring a star century against India during the ODI series between both countries. He will further return to India during the upcoming edition of IPL.
