On 2nd March, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will start his training to perform in the Indian Premier League 13th edition. There has been never-ending discussion on his career since last year’s ODI World Cup.
Dhoni has led India to two world titles. Now he will start his training at the MA Chidambaram Stadium along with some other players of his team.
The 38-year-old captain of Chennai Super Kings has not played since the loss against New Zealand In the World Cup semifinals match last year. He has maintained a silence on his next move. Even from the BCCI’s contracted players list, he has withdrawn his name in January.
With Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina, Dhoni Will Start his Training:
“On 2nd March, he will practice with the players who are available at the time. The full training schedule will begin on 19th March when all the players of the squad would have joined”, Chennai Super Kings CEO KS Viswanathan said.
The IPL 2020 tournament will begin with last year’s champions Mumbai Indian and runners up Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on 29th March.
Dhoni, with other players like Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina, has expected to practice for two or three weeks. Rayudu and Raina have been training at MA Chidambaram Stadium for the past three weeks.
This training would help him to create a bond with the new players and set up the CSK team. Some time back, Dhoni continued his training with the Jharkhand team.
In the past two years, practice sessions of Chennai Super Kings have attracted thousands of cricket fans because Dhoni has set time for early arrival for training. The same can be expected for this year too.
For this season, Chennai Super Kings had picked England Allrounder Sam Curran, India’s under-19 player Piyush Chawla, the Australian bowler Josh Hazelwood, and Tamilnadu left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore. These players have selected in the auction held on 19th December.
