Coronavirus: PM Narendra Modi Lauds Suresh Raina For His Donation

Suresh Raina Donated INR 52 Lakh To The Battle Against Coronavirus:

The coronavirus pandemic affected millions of people all over the world. In this battle, many famous personalities including cricketers have involved and make their contribution. The Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) donated a huge amount of 51 crores whereas Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, as well as Ajinkya Rahane, also donated INR 50 lakh as well as INR 10 lakh respectively.

In the list, Suresh Raina also joined and contributed INR 52 lakh in this fight against COVID-19. He donated Rs 21 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Uttar Pradesh and 31 lakh to the Prime Minister’s CARES Fund.

In this difficult situation, many cricketers have come to help the people and PM Narendra Modi also praised Suresh Raina for his generous donation.

Suresh Raina: ‘Please do your bit too’

The left-hand batsman tweeted “ The time has come when we have to do our bit to defeat #COVID19. I am contributing INR 52 lakh for the battle against #Corona (₹21 lakh to the UP CM’s Disaster Relief Fund and ₹31 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund). Please do your bit too. Jai Hind”.

For this tweet, PM Narendra Modi replied in an amusing way and lauded Suresh Raina by writing “ That’s a brilliant fifty, @ImRaina.”.

A few days ago, Suresh Raina was busy in the pre-season camp arranged by Chennai Super Kings before the 13th season of IPL. He was doing practice with his teammates MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla, etc. in the March 1st week before the camp was suspended due to Coronavirus.

However, in view of the recent circumstances all over the country, the cash-rich league has landed into the water and its possibility looks bleak.

Now, in India, the coronavirus cases have crossed the 1000 and 25 deaths mark amid the lockdown so far in the country.
