BCCI Is Strictly Considering The Option To Separate India
The pandemic of Coronavirus has halted the whole activities of cricketing worldwide. There have already been a number of International series delayed and how the time lost is taken after the pandemic is yet to be seen. Alternatively, there is a risk that so many matches will take place later. This is why the BCCI insists on playing two competing Indian teams on the international level.
Earlier, even the British limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan was ready as he thought the Test and ODI-T20I squads could participate to cover the lost time in the pandemic. Meanwhile, if the team has to play many foreign teams on the same day, BCCI is specifically considering splitting the Indian red ball squads from white-ball squads.
Once Australia Played Two Matches In Two Different Countries:
Under the condition of anonymity, a BCCI official said that in the future, if necessary, the board may be obliged to go down the same route. “None of us know when sports will resume, especially international cricket. However, if we want to protect all of our participants, from sponsors to fans, one choice will be to pick two separate teams simultaneously and to play a test series and a T20I series,” quoted.
If such an option is embraced then fans can see Team India participating in a test game during the day and later in the evening enjoy a T20 International. It is also understood from a report that the BCCI has begun to work on the figures that the two groups should be ready if and when necessary.
When a situation is real, India will be the second team to play two series simultaneously after Australia. A day after hosting Sri Lanka for a T20I at the Adelaide Oval, in 2017 they played the Test game in Pune. All the test players were absent because Steve Smith’s team had to fly on the sub-continent.
