Australia-W Squad for India Tour 2022
Australia Tour of India T20I Series 2022
Today morning, Cricket Australia released their 15-player team, with new vice-captain Tahlia McGrath filling in for stand-in leader Alyssa Healy. Australia will face India in a T20 series starting on 9th December.
Meg Lanning, who is once again unable to lead the team on this trip, is replaced by Healy, and McGrath fills in as vice-captain following Rachael Haynes’ retirement.
IND-W vs AUS-W Venue
The T20 series’ five games will all take place in Mumbai, with the first two games taking place at D.Y. Patil Stadium and the final three games at Cricket Club of India (CCI) Stadium.
Good Opportunity
Legspinner Amanda-Jade Wellington, who was a member of the ODI World Cup team in New Zealand, and wicketkeeper-batter Georgia Redmayne, who has been on the verge of selection for the past several years without earning a debut, are the most notable absences.
Despite missing the last four games due to injury, Wellington has taken 21 wickets at 15.09 and a 6.62 economy rate, and Redmayne has hit 333 runs at 41.62.
Crucial Series for IND-W vs AUS-W
The series might be important for both teams as they get ready for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in South Africa in less than three months. The placement of both teams is in opposing groupings.
India’s Winning Momentum
India will be looking to continue its winning streak after the Women’s Asia Cup. And bring it to the major occasion in South Africa in February 2023.
Australia is the reigning champion, on the other hand. And will be attempting to win the prestigious trophy for the sixth time in the competition’s history.
T20 Women World Cup Groups
In Group B, India will compete against England, Ireland, Pakistan, and the West Indies. While Australia is in Group A along with Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
