AB de Villiers, a former South African international cricketer, is considered one of the most destructive batsmen ever.

AB de Villiers left no stone unturned to leave an imprint in the Big Bash League (BBL) when he took a superb catch by plunging forward on his debut. When AB de Villiers took a catch at short extra cover to get rid of Jonathan Wells (14), his Brisbane teammate James Pattinson completed his five-wicket haul. The Brisbane Heat cap was given to de Villiers by the former Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds. His first BBL match is against the Adelaide Strikers.
He was snapped up by Brisbane captain Chris Lynn as they were simultaneously playing in the IPL, though for different teams in the Indian residential T20 league. Lynn said he was waiting very eagerly to play with the six-hitting sensation.
De Villiers on Lynn:
