England was now very much concerned about the fitness of several members of the team.
Due to the earlier matches lost by England against Srilanka and Pakistan made them pick the first choice XI whenever possible rather than providing rest to key players. As a consequence couple of those key players may not be available in the last two matches against India and New Zealand. England has to win both the games to be in the semi-finals.
Now the most concern is towards Jofra Archer, the fast bowler and Englands wicket-taker in this World Cup, passed a fitness test for the match on Tuesday and made an extraordinary play in the field. The England management has confirmed that he has tightness in the left side and will have a fitness check before the match with India on Sunday.
Archer is one of the important players in England. So, England has to think harder before taking any risk with his fitness.
They also have a concern towards Adil Rashid, as he came into the tournaments suffering from sore shoulders and didn’t make a good bowling average. Rashid was not seen in Wednesday’s match and was taking treatment from England Physio. The team management told he will play for the Sunday’s match.
The England management says Jason Roy is bit cured of his hamstring injury. On Tuesday, he has seen batting in the nets and took part in shuttle runs in outfield. He might play on Sunday’s match and is expecting to train on Friday and Saturday.
Benstoke’s is confirmed to be in the match on Sunday. He was suffering from pain on his calf and was given treatment on Monday.
